Radio forum to examine how well we age

Registered Nurse Shelley Stratton, a certified yoga teacher, will look to help answer the question, “How well are you aging?” at the next free WOW! Working on Wellness radio forum, set for 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, on KSQM 91.5 FM.

Stratton is certified in hatha and yin yoga, is also a cancer exercise specialist and owner of Bodhi Tree Yoga Studio.

The definition of aging well or successful aging, program organizers note, is the ability to maintain a low risk of disease-related disabilities, a high mental and physical function, and an active engagement with life. Stratton will discuss how to obtain or lead a healthy lifestyle, an important aspect for creating the body memory and retention that creates a long-term foundation for integrating stability, strength and balance in our lives. She will also focus on building an internal sense of joy through breathing, moving (exercise), diet (food intake) and meditation.

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic — Sequim’s free clinic, which provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members.
