Have you ever wondered what it takes to show your animal at the fair? Mark your calendar for Saturday, June 10.
The WSU Extension 4-H program invites all local youth to experience the Port Angeles Summer Classic Youth Animal Show. Held at the Clallam County Fairgrounds, the Summer Classic is a fun, educational opportunity to learn how to show your animal. This year, youth may enter poultry, cats, rabbits, cattle, swine, sheep, goats and cavies (guinea pigs).
Enter your own animal — or borrow an animal — 4-H membership is not required for participation. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded.
The PA Summer Classic entry form is available on the Clallam County Extension website at http://extension.wsu.edu/clallam/4h/4-h-event-registrations/.
The 4-H Program offers year-round 4-H clubs and special programs for youth including a Sewing Day Camp in July, a Talent Club, Summer Garden Program, Pickle Making and much more.
Contact Jenny Schmidt, 4-H Program coordinator, at 417-2398 or jenny.schmidt@wsu.edu for more information about 4-H opportunities.
