Revitalize Port Angeles seeks mural designs

Revitalize Port Angeles is requesting design proposals and paint cost estimates from local artists for a mural on the city-owned water tank near the entrance to the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

This is a volunteer project and proposals should be donated. All are welcome to submit, but designs should include rough paint cost estimates. Interested parties can submit sketches or a mock-up, to be dropped off at the Fine Arts Center from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday-Sunday. Submissions will be accepted until 4 p.m., Dec. 14.

Ideal submissions will be simple and designed to blend into the surrounding area. A Northwest theme is recommended. The surface of the tank is rough concrete and the simplicity of the design should take this into account. It is recommended that potential design donors visit the water tank to observe the location, surrounding area and the surface of the water tank. Dimensions of the tank are 15 feet high by 345.4 feet in circumference. The staff of the PAFAC will review all proposals and will determine the final process for selecting the winning submission.
