“A Nice Family Gathering” is a story about a man who loved his wife so much, he almost told her. It’s Thanksgiving Day and the first family gathering at the Lundeen household since the patriarch died. At the gathering, Dad comes back as a ghost with a mission; to tell his wife he loved her, something he neglected to tell her while he was alive. After all, they were only married for 41 years. The problem is, she can’t hear or see him. The trouble begins when Mom invites a date for dinner.

The play is directed by Pat Owens and includes cast members Ric Munhall, Judi Wingard, John Yeo, Michael Aldrich, Valerie Lape, Rebecca Lynn Horst, Merv Wingard and Sue Valnes.

Readers Theatre Plus is a nonprofit organization dedicated to stimulating creativity and appreciation of local talent in the arts. It produces plays, many of which are by local artists, and donates all of the money raised to local nonprofit groups and to scholarships for students in the arts. The troupe was conceived by a group of artists in Port Angeles and Sequim in 2006.

The Port Angeles Symphony is now in its 82nd year.

“We are so grateful to Readers Theatre Plus for the wonderful opportunity to partner together on this production,” said Mark Wendeborn, executive director of the symphony. “Readers Theatre Plus’ commitment to benefit local non-

profits with the proceeds from their productions is a blessing to our communities. It is through the generosity of organizations such as Readers Theatre Plus that the orchestra has been able to provide classical music to the North Olympic Peninsula since 1932.”
