Ruddell Auto will be hosting the annual July “Ruddell Cruise In” from 4-9 p.m. Friday, July 8. This year marks the 20th year the dealership has hosted the event.
“We expect this year’s 20th annual show to be another terrific event with hundreds of cars,” said dealer Howie Ruddell. “We are usually full within an hour of opening the gate and expect the same again this year.”
Members from nearly a dozen different car clubs are expected and individuals are welcome as well. Co-hosting the event is the Old Timers car club from Bremerton.
“We expect cars from across Western Washington: from Bremerton, Tacoma, Puyallup, up to Bellingham, as well as some folks coming down from Canada,” said Old Timers chairman Jerry Scott.
“This is a great event and a big one, too, and with some good weather, we are expecting this year’s Cruise In to set a new attendance record.”
As has always been the tradition, live music will set the tone for the afternoon and evenings activities.
There will be a celebrity benefit dunk tank, with proceeds going to support local charities including Clallam County Fire Department volunteers and Captain Joseph House Foundation. The first 500 donors to CJHF will receive a special limited edition “20th Annual Cruise In” T-shirt.
Food will be offered for a nominal charge. Parking will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Trophies will be awarded for a variety of categories, including Best of Show, Peoples Choice and Farthest Distance Traveled. There is no charge for admission or for display. Please note, due to the limited number of spaces, project cars (those not completed) and post-1981 cars are not allowed.
The Cruise In was started by the late H. “Mac” Ruddell in 1996 with Scott’s help. After success in the initial years, the car club and the dealership forged a long-term relationship and the event has grown significantly since its inception.
The Cruise In is open to the public and is free of charge.
