Join Clallam County Master Gardeners Jan Bartron, Bob Cain, Laurel Moulton and Audreen Williams for the monthly Second Saturday Garden Walk from 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the Port Angeles Fifth Street Community Garden, 328 E. Fifth St.
The guides will point out what grows well on the North Olympic Peninsula, review what needs to be done in the vegetable garden and share control measures for common pests and diseases popping up in the garden now.
With our recent news of potential water shortages this summer a major focus the month will be on best water saving practices in the vegetable and fruit garden. Information on growing tomatoes well will also be discussed.
The monthly walks are free and open to the public.

Developed on city property in 2011, the Fifth Street Community Garden includes more than 50 9-foot-by-12-foot plots worked by local gardeners.
