To help celebrate Victoria Day, city leaders in Victoria, British Columbia, brought in bands from afar — even across international borders.

Sequim High School band members made the trek to Victoria last weekend, playing jazz tunes, trash can-inspired percussion numbers and traditional parade pieces May 22-24.

It’s the band’s final away-from-campus performance of the school year; Sequim bands host one final concert, starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, at the Performing Arts Building, 533 N. Sequim Ave. The band also plays at graduation the following Friday.
