What’s new at the market? This week we have a live demonstration from Chris Weir. If you have not taken in Chris Weir Custom Knives, this definitely is the time to come. He is a talented 20-year-old who has been apprenticing with Jim Stewart of Discovery Bay for four years developing his skills as a "bladesmith." Bladesmithing is the art of making knives, swords and other blades using a forge, hammer, anvil and other smithing tools. This is a craft that is thousands of years old and found all around the world. Besides his exquisite knives, Weir also forges functional pieces for the home, such as hooks, towel racks and more. Come experience this unique, traditional craft demonstration.

Another metalworking vendor who will knock your socks off is Marlow Metalworks. Joe Marlow has been working with metal for much of his life. Now his metalwork is in the form of recycled old farm equipment and barn boards. He takes old disks, harrows, plows, hubs of wheels and whatever strikes his creative eye and transforms them into unique, contemporary pieces of furniture. Both of these vendors are happy to take orders. If you don’t see the piece that is exactly your size or shape, talk to them and see what you can come up with.

Music will be filling the market on Saturday with the sweet songs of Charlie Ferris, always a huge hit, as he sings songs you will be singing along with. Then on Saturday the Old Time Fiddlers are at it again having a good time playing old-time tunes.

Guide Dogs for the Blind and Simply Flowers will be hosting the community booths.

Additionally, I invite you to come and express your gratitude to the BrokersGroup who are our proud sponsors. They will have a booth set up to share with you the latest news and information about real estate in Sequim.

See you at the market!
