Welcome back to the Open Aire Market. We are thrilled to be open, ready to celebrate local producers of all kinds.
This week Stone Lantern will play live music from
11 a.m.-2 p.m. This duet is new to the market; they are local to Sequim. Come give them a warm welcome.
Market hours remain 9 a.m.-3 p.m. every Saturday through October; we’re located on Cedar Street in downtown Sequim, between Sequim and Second avenues.
So … what is new at the market?
Viaggio Pizza is a mobile wood-fired pizza oven bringing the "Old World" to the market. They fire up their pizza oven upon their 6 a.m. arrival at the market. Once that oven is between 700-900 degrees, they start cooking. Viaggio features Napolitano-style pizza with toppings from our local vendors, whenever they can, and will create pizzas with a thin, crispy crust. You will be able to order a slice or a whole pizza to go. The wood-fired oven took several weeks to build and is encased in stucco. Come see this culinary innovation this Saturday.
Nash’s Organic Produce has been growing lots of grains so you can get just about everything you need for every meal of the day. Now you can buy a variety of milled grains, as in pastry flour, whole wheat flour and rye flour, at the market. You can use all your recipes with these flours; discover the difference with locally milled homegrown flour.
Chocolate Serenade came to the market last year, having moved from North Bend, Ore. Have you tried the chocolate truffles? The ones with a touch of cayenne? Stop in and ask Jim what he has been stirring up. He has been creating homemade marshmallow and coating it with dark chocolate – and then there is a new peanut nougat-filled masterpiece. A gift that can’t go wrong, especially when you buy it for yourself!
See you at the market!
