HELEN HALLER ELEMENTARY

Students in Heather Riley’s class earn Fun Day Fridays through positive behavior in the classroom and task completion. They recently voted for “Culinary Delight.” They created candy cane pedestals to hold the cupcakes they baked and decorated. They also made a paper bag gingerbread house to hold their candy pedestals.

SEQUIM MIDDLE SCHOOL

Because of high numbers of COVID, no visiting spectators will be admitted for athletic events at Sequim Middle School. Home athletes will be given two passes to each game to give to friends, parents and/or family members. There will be no spectators allowed for junior varsity games. Students will only be admitted with a ticket. Admission will still be free; no food or drink is allowed in the gym.

OLYMPIC PENINSULA ACADEMY

Students in the K-1 class at Olympic Peninsula Academy researched and created tools that Native Americans used to help them with their everyday lives. They shared their discoveries and creations with their peers, then they created a mini class museum of their discoveries. The class enjoyed comparing Native American tools from 100-plus years ago to the tools we use in our homes today. We discussed how they were made, what they are used for, and much more. Among the tools in our mini museum were baskets, hammers, a sewing needle, pottery, musical instruments and much more.
