HELEN HALLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Teacher Toni Vincent’s fifth-grade class at Helen Haller Elementary observed Black History Month in February by reading the award-winning “The Watsons Go to Birmingham – 1963.” The students’ final projects for the unit ranged from civil rights timelines, maps of the central family’s road trip, imagined text conversations between the two main characters and a faux Twitter page. The class worked incredibly hard and turned in amazing work!

GREYWOLF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Greywolf Parent-Teacher Association president Tricia Stratton would like to give a huge Greywolf “Howl-out” to friends and family who participated in the school’s cookie dough fundraiser, one that raised more than $13,000 for the PTA to help purchase a classroom set of laptops and a charging cart. Thank you to all of the volunteers who spent hours counting money and confirming orders. Cookie dough will arrive in the afternoon on Friday, April 20; plan on picking up frozen orders between 3-7 p.m.
