The next school board meeting is 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, in the district boardroom, 503 N. Sequim Ave. The public is invited to attend and time is set aside for public comment. GREYWOLF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Lora Rudzinski’s second-grade class created watercolor castles as they were learning about fairy tales, characters, and the settings where they take place.
HELEN HALLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Patrick Caron’s fourth-grade class went on a field trip on Sept. 27 to the Railroad Bridge Park to attend the Dungeness River Festival. The class joined other classes and community members from around the area. The purpose of the field trip was to build an “Inspiring understanding, enjoyment, and stewardship of the Olympic Peninsula’s unique natural and cultural resources.”
Corbyn Lovell said his favorite part was when he got a free whistle compass. Dominic Critchlow enjoyed seeing and petting the horses; he says they are “majestic beasts.” Lilyanna Anderson said she enjoyed seeing old friends from different schools. She also enjoyed the animal displays.
Helen Haller is collecting box tops, a fundraiser for the school. The first collection day is Oct. 17.
Join teachers and staff for Family STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Night from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 (students in K-2) and Wednesday, Oct. 23 (students in 3-5). Learn to code and build and program LEGO robots, and get instruction from Sequim High School robotics students. Dinner is provided.
SEQUIM MIDDLE SCHOOL
Picture re-takes at SMS are Oct. 23.
SEQUIM HIGH SCHOOL
LifeTouch will be at the high school for picture re-takes on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
The annual seniors-versus-staff volleyball game is set for Wednesday, Oct. 23. Sign-ups are in the main office.
Check out the SHS choir in their first concert of the school year, set for 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, in the auditorium.
The annual SHS Haunted Hallways is scheduled for 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, in the H building.
There will be open gyms hosted by coach Sven Wiker throughout October. Open gyms are 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday nights at the community school gymnasium, and 10-11 a.m. on Saturdays in the SHS gym.
