The June 6 Art Walk color theme is white and the visible spectrum. With all the colors of the rainbow, magic is in the air and the wearing of fairy wings and glittery pixie dust is encouraged — remember to bring your bubble wand, too!
First Friday Art Walk Sequim is a fun, free, self-guided tour of local art venues in Sequim on the First Friday of every month from 5-8 p.m. Visit online at www.sequimartwalk.com as your resource to download and print your own map, find out what special events are happening, links and how you can be part of art.
The Art Walk group’s mission is to create approachable, accessible art and cultural venues that encourage the community to connect and celebrate expression and diversity.
To create inclusion among venues, artists and audience, all is encouraged to participate in the Art Walk’s monthly themes as a fun community activity in any creative form they wish to express it. Upcoming months include the following themes: July is purple, August is yellow, September is blue, October is orange, November is brown and December is gold.

• Create a rainbow card that a pixie or fairy might dream of receiving at Doodlebugs. Its Creative Café Art Bar is open and holds a “Happy Hour” when people may create the project every Friday from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
• Fieldnotes at 123 E. Washington St. reveals how to create magical fairy garden workshops throughout the night.
• Blow bubbles full of rainbows at Sequim’s Sunshine Café and experience affordable art in the form of buttons and colorful art apparel by Brock-Richmond at 145 W. Washington St. Create handcrafted art and apparel that embraces the empowerment of brilliant hues, individualism and acceptance.
• Join the artists of the Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., to celebrate its 17th anniversary from 5-8 p.m. Lynne Armstrong and Christian Speidel showcase the front windows. On June 14, 1997, the Blue Whole Gallery, an artists’ co-op with 26 members, opened its doors. What started as “an experiment in excellence, a fine art gallery of professional artists pursuing creative originality” has continued and thrived to this day. The gallery has 30 artists working with oil, acrylic and watercolor, mixed media, assemblage, photography, fused glass, metal sculpture, ceramics, wood sculpture and turning and jewelry.
• Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave., continues its performing arts contribution to First Friday Art Walk with An Unusual Evening in Sequim — Music, Dance, and Words, Oh My! at 6:30 p.m. It features original works that reflect one art talking to another, piano music inspired by words, words inspired by music, and dance inspired by both. There is no charge for this event.

• R&T Crystals and Beads have jewelry demonstrations from Paulette Hill and Gail McLain at 158 E. Bell St.
• Colors of Sequim at 139 W. Washington St. is featuring artist Jordan Haviland, music by Victor Reventlow, Boys & Girls Club art exhibit and Buc Keene promoting his western books.
• LARC Gallery at 425 E. Washington St. features several local artists.
• Enjoy live music and sample award-winning wines at Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St.
• Heather Creek is featuring jewelry handcrafted by Rebecca Johnson of Third Wish Studios at 122 W. Washington St.
• That Takes the Cake inspires sweetness with artful cupcakes at 171 W. Washington St.
• Pacific Pantry at 229 S. Sequim Ave. exhibits local artists.
• The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley is open at 175 W. Cedar St.
• Gallery At The Fifth features Ross Hamilton, photographer, and Iris Edey, watercolorist, through June. The celebration will be from 2-4 p.m. June 18. The art will be available for viewing on the First Friday Art Walk, from 5-8 p.m. at 500 W. Hendrickson Road.
• At the Rainshadow Roasting Company, sample gourmet and exotic coffee brewed from beans roasted and ground on premises, 157 W. Cedar St.
• At the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., Pam Dick will be showing her fractal designs from June 1-Aug. 31 during normal business hours. There will be an artist reception on First Friday from 6-7:30 p.m.
• Scott Erickson exhibits his striking photographic scenes of the Southwest, Alaska, North Olympic Peninsula and other locations in the U.S. on a rotating basis at Strait Financial Advice, 193 W. Cedar St.
