Soroptimist International of Sequim has announced its September and October Girls of the Month.
The September honor goes to Caydence Barnett, a member of the Sequim High School band. In addition to her love of music, she loves her Food Safety and Science class. Barnett loves the hands-on learning challenges of this class and when she is not in school, she works at the YMCA in Sequim as a play care employee. She has been on the honor roll since middle school, and she has her eye on teaching music history after leaving college with hopes to attend the University of Washington.
The October honor goes to Kathryn (Kate) Brouillard. She has been on honor roll since sixth grade and has a love of science and says her favorite class is Human Body Systems. Brouillard is a member of the choir and volunteers and assists with choir activities and is on the JV/Varsity swim team. When not in school, she is employed at Oak Table in Sequim. College aspirations include Washington State University in Pre-med and biology with a goal of going into pediatrics or family medicine.
