Fair tidings

Mt. Olympus Detachment #897 of the Marine Corps League will have a booth at the Clallam County Fair.

Please come by and learn about the programs supported by the detachment including Toys For Tots, Honor Squad for veterans funerals, scholarships for NJROTC cadets, participation with the Clallam County Veterans Association to put on a Veterans Day Ceremony, participate in local parades and assist local veterans in need. They will have their parade float, a replica of a WWII Marine AmTrak, there for you to view.

You don’t have to be a Marine to join. I am Navy and an Associate. Please come by and talk to us and learn how we help the community and veterans.

Get signed up

Those of you who are getting Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare and benefits via VA’s MyHealtheVet website or DS Logon Portal need to make sure you set up accounts using Login.gov or ID.me before January 2025.

MyHealtheVet will be disabled after January 31, 2025, and the DS Logon will end after September 30, 2025. This move is to maintain online security protections and simplify the sign-in process. Account creation will take about 10 minutes.

If you don’t set up a new account, you will not lose your existing account info but will not be able to access it or update it.

Start right now to set up a new account. Please ask others for help if you are concerned. This doesn’t affect those who don’t manage VA care or benefits online.
