‘Walk-about” set at Woodcock Garden

Pack a lunch, put on a sun hat and take a free educational and relaxing walk with a Master Gardener at Woodcock Demonstration Garden during a “walk about” set for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Attendees meet in the covered pavilion where they will be given a walking tour guide and 2024 event schedule, and meet up with a Master Gardener to begin the tour.

This month’s walk at the 2.74-acre site will focus on the dahlia garden, small fruits — which are ready for harvest — as well as water conservation and visitor’s interests. There are more than 22 themed gardens to experience, including a shade garden, a mushroom garden, vegetable raised beds that help supply the Sequim Food Bank, herbs in culinary and medicinal beds ready for the kitchen table, and more.

After the tour, participants are free to stroll around speak with the Master Gardeners, or relax with a picnic lunch at the picnic tables.
