After a working life at sea, author Charlie Seldon is putting adventure to the page.
On July 28, Sheldon will entertain Fourth Friday Readings with a selection from “Strong Heart,” his adventure novel set on the Olympic Peninsula.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at The Lodge’s media room, 660 Evergreen Farm Way, Sequim.
Sheldon has been writing ever since he could hold a crayon. Trained as a wildlife biologist, he spent a decade as a commercial fisherman on the Atlantic Ocean. On the West Coast, he went to sea as a merchant sailor.
A Washington resident for nearly three decades, Sheldon has written novels for much of that time, believing that “storytelling makes us human.” He hikes the Olympic Mountains whenever he can.
An hour of 5-minute open mic readings follows the presentation. Interested writers should come early to submit their names. They are asked to rehearse in advance, as the readings are timed.
