Workshop turns cheese graters to owls

To encourage participation in the Irrigation Festival Innovative Arts and Craft’s Innovative Reuse Showcase (May 4-6), several spring workshops have been devised for creative folks to take.

From 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, Kelly Jo Hill hosts a Cheese Grater Owls Workshop at 895 Sporseen Road in Sequim (directions will follow with confirmation); a $20 fee includes workshop materials.

Have a creative time making an owl creature out of a cheese grater and other assorted parts with an unlimited number of variations that can be made. Learn how to think of knobs, pulls, handles, screws, washers, bolts, bottle caps and other various metal, wood parts and accessories as an owl’s eyes, beak and perch. Sign up directly with Hill at 360-460-8592.

Participants are encouraged to consider entering the owls or other creative repurposed works for the Innovative Reuse Showcase and Contest in May. Details can be found at www.IrrigationFestival.com or contacting Hill at 360-461-3950 or JustAskKelly@olypen.com.
