$100,000 in 100 days passes halfway point

The Olympic Theatre Arts' campaign, "$100,000 in 100 Days," is past its halfway mark.

The Olympic Theatre Arts’ campaign, "$100,000 in 100 Days," is past its halfway mark.

OTA has raised about $50,000 at day 50.

Running until July 31, the theater is trying to match a loan from Bob and Elaine Caldwell of Sequim.

The Caldwells loaned the organization $100,000 interest free for two years and will forgive the loan up to the full amount if matched.

"We’ve encountered a lot of new givers and past donors with this," Elaine said.

"I hope people will take this opportunity to open their hearts."

In the next three weeks, all major contracting except final finishes will be completed, she said.

The building committee is making its final list for smaller projects, too.

"The rest seems so minor now that we’ve gone so far," Elaine said.

"Because of where we are in these economic times with these donors coming out, it’s encouraging."

Olympic Theatre Arts is located at 414 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim.

Various sponsorships of theater seats, bricks and stars are available. Call the OTA box office 683-7326 with questions.
