Continuing their long-standing tradition, Captain Crystal Stout, Emily Westcott and a number of local helpers put the finishing touches on decorating downtown Sequim last week for the holidays, including a waterfall of Christmas lights.
For a new touch, Stout said she sought out donated foam coolers to stake down and make an igloo for a snowman family at the 1st Security Bank park.
City of Sequim staff placed and decorated the downtown Christmas tree on Monday, Nov. 25 in Centennial Place, at the intersection of West Washington Street and Sequim Avenue, after press deadline. Its lights will switch on during the Hometown Holiday Event at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Prior, Santa Claus will be available for photos from 2-4 p.m., with music by Sequim City Band, Juan de Fuca Harmony, and more. A lighted tractor cruise sponsored by Sequim Museum and Arts starts at 4:45 p.m. with staging beginning at 3 p.m. on Fir Street. Tractors will go east to North Sequim Avenue, west on Washington Street, and south on Fifth Avenue, and back to Fir Street.
