A way to make wishes come true at SHS

The winter season at Sequim High School is important to each and every person of the student body, not only for the increased family value, but for a special event that Sequim High School is proud to put together.

Annually we host the Winter Wishes assembly where we do our best to make the wishes of as many students as we can at our school come true.

This tradition started back in 2007 and has become an integral part of the school year for students and faculty alike. Each student is given the opportunity to request a wish for themselves as well as a friend.

The Winter Wishes committee selects wishes to grant and these wishes range from simply giving candy to even reuniting family members.

All of these wishes are paid for by donations that we seek from the community. Careful consideration is given to each wish; our top priority is to help those in our school who are less fortunate and who are in desperate need of a holiday pick-me-up.

In the past we’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to change the lives of our students.

Last year, we were able to send a student of ours to visit his ailing grandmother all the way in Florida. This did not only affect his life but ultimately the lives of all of the students who were able to witness this experience and make their holiday season that much brighter.

We wouldn’t have been able to pull this off without the help of the generous community of Sequim.

With the spirit of giving for the holiday season, we are hoping you will consider contributing to making miracles come true through this wonderful tradition.

All donations are needed by Friday, Dec. 6. No matter what you can contribute, whether large or small, we are more than grateful for any contributions.

Thank you for your consideration and we wish you joy throughout the holiday season!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at shswinterwishes@yahoo.com. We are more than willing to answer any questions to make this assembly possible!

Sincerely,
