Add ‘Voices of Light’ to holidays

"Voices of Light" is the musical theme for this year's Northwest Women's Chorale three holiday concerts.

"Voices of Light" is the musical theme for this year’s Northwest Women’s Chorale three holiday concerts. Musical works by Schubert, Puccini, Rutter, Britten and Richard Rodgers will be performed along with well-known Christmas tunes in the chorale’s traditional audience sing-a-long.

"Voices of Light" will start at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 11, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim;

3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 13, at First Congregational Church, 280 S. Spartan Ave., Forks; and

7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.

Featured guest flautist Sharon Snel will perform in several works, including Paul Halley’s "Voices of Light." A medley of holiday music for flute, horn and piano by composer/arranger Linda Dowdell will be premiered and feature the concert’s instrumentalists.

The show is directed by Joy A. Lingerfelt and accompanied by pianist Kristin Quigley Brye. Concert goers can buy advance tickets at www.NWPerformingArts.com or at the door for $10.
