The Albert Haller Foundation will be celebrating “25 Years of Giving” at the organization’s annual awards ceremony, set for 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at at the Sequim High School auditorium, 533 N. Sequim Ave.

Recipients of grants recommended by the United Way screening board and approved by the board of directors of the foundation will appear in person to receive a check and say a few words about their organization.

About $200,000 will be distributed.

A new updated foundation brochure will be introduced, as well as a “soon to be online” website (www.alberthallerfoundation.org).

“While our financial advisers have done an excellent job of keeping pace with inflation and the IRS-required 5 percent of giving, it seems the number of applications in support of the poor and needy have increased substantially,” foundation president Gary W. Smith said.

“The new brochure and website are an effort to increase on Albert’s legacy of giving with an appeal for donations, contributions and bequests from anyone interested in joining this worthy cause.”
