An attic fire on Sunday evening off Evans Road left two homeowners displaced after the roof was burned.
Clallam County Fire District 3 responded to the fire at 247 Griffith Farm Road at 5:55 p.m. June 4, where firefighters continue to investigate its cause.
Fire Chief Ben Andrews said the fire may have started on the deck and carried into the attic which destroyed the roof but not the whole house.
Firefighters extinguished the fire in about two hours, Andrews said, which was especially difficult because of heavy winds that fanned the fire.
The homeowners said they were uninjured and their home, which they’ve lived in for 2 1/2 years, is insured.
Andrews said they plan to live in an adjacent building to the home for now.
Fire District 3 sent three engines and three tenders to the scene and Clallam County Fire District 2 responded with one engine.
Olympic Ambulance, Clallam PUD and the American Red Cross of the Olympic Peninsula also responded.
