The Scouts of Troop 1491 of Sequim have planned a nonstop 100-mile outing this summer that will include a 50-mile hike through the Olympic Mountains, immediately followed by a 30-mile bike trek to Brinnon and finally a 20-mile canoe paddle to Triton Cove State Park.
They will coordinate with support teams from start to finish, however, each boy will rely on his own skills to take him successfully through the trip.
They will carry their own gear, camping and cooking for themselves in the outdoors for the nine-day trip.
The Scouts planned the outing to mark the 100-year anniversary of Scouting in the United States and received the support and approval of their parents and leaders.
