Tourism summit
Local business and industry leaders can preregister Sept. 29 for a tourism summit on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Fort Worden.
Topics include the current tourism marketing landscape, how to decide on components of an integrated marketing plan, how to use marketing partnerships to stretch the budget and the importance of travel writers.
Registration is $75 for the first registrant and $65 for a second registrant from the same business. Registration is $85 after Sept. 29. The price includes lunch.

Breast cancer and prostate, too
Dr. Leslie Van Romer, chiropractor and author of "Getting into Your Pants," and Dr. Narinder Duggal, M.D., internist, diabetic and lipid specialist, present "Breast Cancer & Prostate Too," 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, on the main stage in Olympic Theatre Arts Center, 414 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim.

Thrift store open
The Sequim Dungeness Hospital Guild’s Thrift Shop, at Second Avenue and Bell Street in downtown Sequim, will be open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2.
All white tagged items in the store will be marked half price during the sale.
Proceeds from the store are returned to the community.
