Deon Kapetan has joined Sound Community Bank as Peninsula Region lending team manager.
Kapetan will be responsible for managing the Clallam County lending team and work directly with real estate agents, builders and other clients.
She is located at the Sequim office, 541 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
Kapetan is a 14-year veteran of the banking and residential mortgage lending business. She most recently was with Peninsula Mortgage in Port Angeles, where she worked the past four years. Previously, she held a variety of lending and banking positions with First Federal.
She is a member of Port Angeles and Sequim Association of Realtors, North Peninsula Building Association and Clallam County Economic Development Council.
Since 1999, Kapetan has been an active board member of the Sequim Irrigation Festival.
She also has participated as a board member and co-treasurer for the Jeff Caterina Foundation, assisting terminally and severely ill children of Clallam and Jefferson counties.
She lives in Sequim with her husband, Kevin, and two children.

As part of event, Baskin-Robbins will make a $100,000 donation to the National Volunteer Fire Council’s National Junior Firefighters Program.
That program serves as an umbrella for local junior firefighter programs nationwide that teach youths about volunteer emergency service and help prepare future firefighters.
The donation provides scholarships to outstanding junior firefighters and supports the National Junior Firefighter Program.

Estes Builders’ safety manager Jason Chittick attended a two-day Construction Safety Day and OSHA workshop in Puyallup, presented by the Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board and the Department of Labor & Industries.
The training, which completes the annual OSHA/WISHA education requirement for Estes Builders, included electrical hazards, fall protection, OSHA on-site-visit training, personal protective equipment, ergonomics and conducting safety inspections.
Chittick plans to create a process to ensure the safety of Estes employees as well as other trade partners to meet the company’s requirement of one training implementation per every eight hours of training completed,

The deadline for filing personal property listings with the Clallam County Assessor’s Office is April 30.
Owners of assets associated with professional, service, retail, commercial and industrial enterprises or who have farm equipment are required to file an annual listing of personal property.
Household goods and personal effects or business inventories are exempt from taxation.
Failure to file a listing by April 30 is subject to a 5-percent penalty per month, up to a maximum of 25 percent.
