Gov. Christine Gregoire has appointed Erik S. Rohrer of Forks as a trustee at Peninsula College. Rohrer is a judge in Clallam County District Court II in Forks and began his duties on Oct. 14.

Rohrer will serve a five-year term on the Peninsula College board of trustees. He succeeds Dennis Duncan of Port Angeles, who completed his second term in June. Trustees are limited to two five-year terms.

Rohrer, who received his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law, is a former assistant attorney general.

The Port Angeles office of the Washington State Department of Revenue is hosting a free workshop for owners of new and small businesses from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Port of Port Angeles Building, 338 W. First St., Port Angeles. Participants will learn about Washington excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements. An informal setting allows participants to ask questions specific to their businesses and all receive a workbook and reference guide to department rules and regulations.

InsideOut welcomes Kailey Lampert, a Web technician from Peninsula College and Katie Pate, an SEO technician with a degree in media studies and English from Scripps College.
