Seniors, nonprofits
invited to meeting
Goodwill Industries will have an informational meeting at the YMCA, 302 S. Francis St., Port Angeles 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 5.
Topics include Goodwill’s Senior Community Service Employment Program.
The meeting is targeted for seniors who are 55 and older and nonprofit 501(c)3 or governmental agencies that can become training sites for seniors.

Thomsens
earn designation
Marc and Pat Thomsen of Coldwell Banker Uptown Realty earned the Seller Representative Specialist professional real estate designation. The designation course focuses on skills listing agents need to represent their sellers.
The Thomsens completed the required education course work in June.
The Port Angeles residents have been real estate agents on the peninsula for nine years.

Bill’s Plumbing
turns 50
The public is invited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bill’s Plumbing, 425 S. Third Ave., Sequim, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12. In addition to a lunch barbecue with dessert, door prizes will be given away. Vendors will demonstrate various plumbing products throughout the celebration.
Founded by Bill Kimler in 1959, the business now is owned by his daughter Judy Kimler. It has operated in its present location since the 1970s.
Sound Sleep center
receives accreditation
Sound Sleep Clinic and Sleep Disorders Center in Sequim received program accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
The center, at 512 E. Washington St., Sequim, is directed by Dr. Jakdej Nikomborirak.
To receive a five-year accreditation, a sleep center must meet or exceed all standards for professional health care as designated by the medical society. The accreditation process involves detailed inspection of a center’s facility and staff, including an evaluation of testing procedures, patient contacts and physician training.
