Candidate forum set for 6th Congressional District

A candidate forum featuring primary election candidates for the 6th Congressional District seat now held by Derek Kilmer is planned for 7 p.m. Monday, July 18.

The League of Women Voters Tacoma-Pierce, Kitsap, and Jefferson Counties will host the forum featuring Kilmer and challengers Chris Binns, Todd Bloom, Elizabeth Kreiselmaier, Rebecca Parson and Tom Triggs.

They will be on the Aug. 2 primary election ballot. The top-two primary will narrow the contest to two candidates for the Nov. 8 general election.

The 6th Congressional District encompasses most of the Olympic Peninsula, most of the Kitsap Peninsula, and most of the city of Tacoma.

The forum will be broadcast live on TV Washington, and the local channel can be found at tvw.org/channel-locator.

Alternatively, viewers can register for access to watch the forum via Zoom at bit.ly/3ndpP0p.

Questions for candidates can be submitted to lwvtacomapierce@gmail.com; note that the questions are for the 6th Congressional District forum.

Concise, unbiased questions directly related to the job and its policies will be given priority, and similar questions will be combined.

“We strive to ensure that questions reflect a wide range of concerns from our district’s multiple constituencies,” the league said in a press release.
