Thank you letters from Mr. Boots’ class:
SEQUIM MIDDLE SCHOOL
Students in Steven Boots’ class wrote about Newspapers in Education.
Thank you so much for supplying all of us students with the information in life and things about our peers around us! From me and all the people and students at SMS. Thank You!
– Isaac Boyd
Thank you for all the work you put into making the newspaper.
I really enjoyed reading all the articles that you have printed. My favorite thing to read in the paper is either the crime reports or upcoming events. Without the newspaper I would be very, very uninformed about the things that are going on in our little town.
I learned that outside of my bubble there is a world full of exciting events and crazy stories. That everyone’s life is different with memories of joy and sorrow that are spoken of in the Gazette.
I think it’s awesome how the Gazette appeals to many different varieties and ages of people. I always love the puzzles and riddles in section B of the newspaper, under sports and schools.
Thank you for all you do! For everything, and keeping Sequim well informed about the world around us.
– Heidi Stallman
I want to thank you for generously giving Mr. Boots’ classes the newspaper every week. Reading the newspaper has increased my vocabulary and literary skills, and has kept me up on what’s going on in our town and separate communities. I learned many things from the newspaper that I would have never learned otherwise, like the scores and times from the high school’s football and track teams. The track times in the newspaper have made me strive to beat their times and improved mine.
I definitely enjoyed reading the comics in the C-section of the newspaper, (community), they were always funny and brightened my day just a little bit. I also thought seeing my essay that I wrote in Mr. Boots’ class in the newspaper was totally awesome. Also, reading my classmates essays was enjoyable. I also learned some life lessons about what not to do with my life from some of the stories of the knuckleheads that get published. Thank you once again for your generous donation all throughout the school year.
– Jake Lewis

Thank you for the newspaper.
It taught me about the world and the community around me, how bad and good things are always happening. How the economy is crumbling. How the spring flowers blooming.
Thank you for the newspaper. It showed me what sports and games are active today also, what community activities there are to join like basketball, knitting, the Boys & Girls Club, and more. The paper is what I used for knowledge.
Thanks you for the newspaper. I used it very well as confetti when shredded or plaster when glued and my birds use it too. I always read all I can before its final use.
– Emily Anderson

I wanted to thank you for giving Mr. Boots 2nd period class the newspaper. I know that you give it to other classes but I think we used and enjoyed it the most. I hope in the future that you give kids the Sequim Gazette so they can gain the same knowledge about their community that we got this year. I learned about a lot of homeless organizations that donate clothes and about the new store we are getting at the old Rite-Aid land plot. I enjoyed the stories about the storms in Sequim. The writers brought out the detail like I was there in spirit. Thank you again Sequim Gazette.
