Volunteer Emily Westcott is seeking sponsors to continue the community flower basket program that showcases works by the Sequim High School agriculture science and horticulture classes and benefits Sequim schools and the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Baskets are created by students under the tutelage of instructor Kristi Short and are placed throughout the city to beautify downtown Sequim.
Westcott, who has collected sponsors for the past 16 years, says the students "do a fantastic job."
Basket sponsorships are $100; businesses, groups or individuals also may combine to split the $100 sponsorship. Each flower basket pole will bear the names of the sponsor and the student who made the basket.
For more information, call Westcott at 683-0183 or Lynn Elliott at the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce, 683-6197. Sponsor donations can be mailed to the Sequim Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 907, Sequim, WA 98382.
