St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Sequim, hosted the Boys and Girls Choir from St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle at the 10 a.m. Sunday service May 29.
This choir is an ensemble of upper elementary students enrolled in the choir school program at the cathedral. The majority of students participate in weekly rehearsals and on-site musicianship classes. The choir regularly sings for Sunday liturgies and Sunday Evensong services. Rebekah Gilmore is the director and Brian Fairbanks serves as the accompanist.
Military Quilt Sunday, honoring Memorial Day, fell on the same day, with church members providing 15 patriotic quilts for the Women’s Veteran Center in Seattle and Madigan Hospital at Fort Lewis. The quilts were blessed and sent off last week.
