Christmas tree sought for downtown holiday display

City of Sequim staff and community members seek another Christmas tree donation for downtown Sequim at Centennial Place on the northeast corner of Sequim Avenue and Washington Street.

Organizers seek either a Douglas fir or noble fir at least 25 feet tall, said Emily Westcott, co-organizer of the annual holiday downtown decorating effort.

City crews are willing to cut down and transport the tree within the Sequim area, she said.

They must know of a donation by Thursday, Oct. 31.

Those interested can contract Sequim Operations Manager Ty Brown at tbrown@sequimwa.gov or Westcott at 360-681-3437.

Lights on the tree go live on Thanksgiving weekend during the Hometown Holidays event on the downtown corner. Flower basket donations help pay for decorations and lights.
