Christian Women’s Connection

"Steppin’ Out In Style" is the theme of the Port Angeles Christian Women’s Connection luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, at Port Angeles CrabHouse, 221 N. Lincoln St., Port Angeles.

Fiber artist Sue Nylander presents a "Show and Tell" of her creations and techniques.

Guitarist Bob Edwards provides music.

Veronica Lovell of Surrey, British Columbia, discusses "A Promise of Restoration."

Salmon BBQ at Trinity United Methodist

The annual salmon barbecue at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave., runs 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, May 8.

The barbecue, always presented on Sequim Irrigation Festival parade day, costs $12 for adults and $4 for children under 13.

Motorcyclists meet

The local chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists’ Association meets at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Cameron’s Grill, inside the Sequim Senior Activity Center, 921 E. Hammond St., Sequim.

The June meeting will not be held due to the club’s state rally in Ephrata.

National Day of Prayer

Faith Lutheran Church hosts a National Day of Prayer service at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at 382 W. Cedar St., Sequim.

On April 17, 1952, President Harry Truman signed a bill proclaiming that a national day of prayer must be declared by each following president. In 1988, the law was amended so that the National Day of Prayer would be the first Thursday of May.

People of all faiths are invited "to turn to God in prayer and meditation" on that day.
