City begins pavement, sidewalk improvements Monday

Next week, the City of Sequim Public Works Department staff begins work on pavement preservation and American with Disabilities Act compliance projects in town.

Next week, the City of Sequim Public Works Department staff begins work on pavement preservation and American with Disabilities Act compliance projects in town.

From Monday-Friday, Oct. 10-14, crews with Northern Asphalt, LLC will work on pedestrian ramps on West Fir Street between North Seventh and Ninth avenues into ADA compliance.

Sidewalks will be closed around the ramps and pedestrians will be rerouted.

On Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 17-18, crews will close North Seventh Avenue between Spruce and Fir streets to vehicle traffic for subgrade and pavement repair work.

From Oct 24-31, parking along West Fir Street between North Fifth and Ninth avenues and on Klahn Place will be closed for pavement overlay work.

Drivers can expect traffic control and some delays, city staff said.

Northern Asphalt, LLC will work 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday on projects depending on weather.
