City honors employees with festive cheer

Staff for the City of Sequim participated in a year-end employee recognition event Dec. 3 at the Sequim Elks Club. The city council and city leadership team sponsored the event.

The evening included dinner with barbecued pork by Administrative Assistant Ann Holgerson, with a special barbecue sauce and baked beans by Mayor Ken Hays.

Hays and City Manager Steve Burkett gave speeches thanking employees for their hard work. Nineteen local businesses donated 58 door prizes and gift certificates to honor city staff.

Special events were held throughout, including an ugly sweater contest. Holgerson won the ugly sweater contest. Police Officer Paul Dailidenas was a semi-finalist.
