City of Sequim establishes utility relief fund

Plan includes no shut-offs or delinquency fees during pandemic

City of Sequim staff announced Friday, March 20, that they’ll work with community members facing financial difficulties during the novel coronavirus threat to make payment arrangements for water and sewer utility payments.

They’ve also suspended charging delinquency fees and won’t disconnect services during the COVID-19 situation.

City staff developed a temporary Utility Relief Discount Program specific to those effected by the virus; in specific single-family residents and small businesses within the City of Sequim.

City staff said the program may require adjustment if COVID-19 economic impacts continue to remain dire or if they improve. With questions, call the City of Sequim Finance Department at (360) 683-4139.
