John Alder – Alder, 34, of Sequim, also known as Eddie Alder, was charged Dec. 15 with unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree conviction of a non-serious felony offense or domestic violence crime, assault in the fourth degree and malicious mischief in the third degree with property damage at $50 or less. On Dec. 14, Sequim Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at Alder’s Sequim residence. The Sequim Police report indicates Alder allegedly threw a shoe at his live-in girlfriend and tried to kick her. Officers arrested Alder, obtained a search warrant for the house and found an assault rifle with several boxes of ammunition. Alder is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess any firearms. The malicious mischief charge came from a broken door jam officers believed happened as a result of the alleged assault.

Ray Beach – Beach, 52, of Sequim, was charged Dec. 15 with unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree and reckless endangerment. A Clallam County Sheriff’s Office report indicates that on March 20, 2008, Beach fired two bullets from a .38 caliber revolver in his home in Sequim. One bullet went into a wall but the second bullet went through his left hand and left leg, according to the report. Beach produced a blood alcohol concentration of 0.164 at Olympic Medical Hospital. Officers also determined Beach is a convicted felon and is not allowed to possess a firearm.

Troy Grahn – Grahn, 38, of Sequim, was charged Dec. 12 with assault in the second degree, assault in the fourth degree and interfering with the reporting of a domestic violence incident, all charges related to domestic violence. On Dec. 11, Sequim Police responded to a reported domestic dispute where a man reportedly was trying to arm himself with a firearm. Police forced entry into the home and found a woman cowering in a corner on the phone with 9-1-1 dispatch and Grahn moving toward her. Grahn reportedly had hit her several times, knocked her out and hit her several more times. A roommate attempted to break up the fight and was in turn assaulted by Grahn, according to the report.

Matthew Malcolm Jr. – Malcolm, 18, of Port Angeles, was charged Dec. 16 with attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle. On Dec. 15, a Washington State Patrol trooper was driving on U.S. Highway 101 at the speed limit in snow and ice. Malcolm allegedly passed the officer at a high rate of speed, at which time the officer activated his emergency lights. The vehicle did not stop, cut off several other vehicles and ran a red light while turning south off the highway. The car pulled over and the driver fled on foot.

Passengers in the vehicle expressed fear for their lives and identified Malcolm as the driver who fled the scene. Sequim Police responded to the scene with a canine unit and began a search of the nearby woods. A sergeant from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office located Malcolm sometime later without a shoe. The Sequim canine unit found his shoe near the chase scene.

Susane Huxtable – Huxtable, 33, of Port Angeles, entered into a pretrial diversion contract with Clallam County Superior Court. If she is able to complete the conditions of the agreement, the court will drop the charges of possession of a controlled substance other than marijuana and theft in the third degree.

Guy Ralph – A Clallam County Superior Court judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Ralph, 30, of Clallam Bay and formerly from Sequim, for failure to appear in court on charges of attempting to manufacture methamphetamine. Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an assault complaint on the 400 block of Dungeness Meadows Lane and found what appeared to be chemicals and apparatus for the manufacture of methamphetamine. OPNET detectives obtained a search warrant and found an active drug lab with equipment, chemicals, liquids, pill extractions, an HCL generator and glassware associated with manufacturing methamphetamine.

Celinde Cline – Cline, 20, of Sequim, entered into a pretrial diversion contract with the court on Dec. 11. If she is able to complete the conditions of the agreement, the court will drop the charge of theft in the second degree.

Jack Clevenger – A Clallam County Superior Court judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Clevenger for failure to appear in court on Dec. 18 on charges of assault in the second degree and robbery in the first degree. In December 2007, a Sequim man reported his cell phone had been stolen and that he had been assaulted by Clevenger, resulting in a broken nose and a fractured jaw. Clevenger alleges he hit the man in self-defense and declined to come into the police office when contacted by officers. However, a witness to the event corroborated the victim’s testimony, rather than Clevenger’s.

Rhonda Kay Zuzich – Zuzich, 42, of Port Angeles, saw her case dismissed from Clallam County Superior Court Dec. 12. The case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning the charges can be filed again by prosecutors. Court records indicate that based on new discovery the state elected not to pursue charges at this time.
