Jeremy Garland – Garland, 18, reportedly transient, was charged Sept. 30 with possession of a controlled substance other than marijuana. On Sept. 29, a Sequim Police officer performed a traffic stop on Garland for failure to come to a complete stop. The officer requested to search Garland’s vehicle and Garland reportedly agreed to the search. The officer allegedly found several small plastic baggies of white crystalline powder, which later tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the police report. Garland was booked in the Clallam County Correctional Facility.

Dana Hepfer – Hepfer, 23, of Sequim, was charged Oct. 1 with two counts of possession of a controlled substance other than marijuana. On Sept. 27, Sequim Police officers were dispatched to a report of someone driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol who was leaving the Chevron gas station at 23 Hooker Road. A witness at the gas station called police as well as a driver on U.S. Highway 101 who spotted the vehicle swerving in its lane, speeding up and slowing down erratically. A Sequim Police officer caught up with the vehicle, reportedly driven by a friend of Hepfer who was arrested for driving under the influence. Hepfer was in the passenger seat. In a search of the vehicle incident to the arrest, the officer found a prescription pill bottle with Hepfer’s name on it allegedly filled with three plastic baggies containing a white powder residue, which later tested positive for cocaine. Hepfer was arrested. Then during a search of Hepfer incident to her own arrest, the officer reportedly found four methadone pills and 15 Lorazepam pills.

Heidi Hendrick – Hendrick, 42, of Sequim, was charged Sept. 26 with theft in the first degree, a class B felony. On Aug. 18, Hendrick allegedly stole about $2,000 worth of electronic merchandise from the Port Angeles Wal-Mart. The incident reportedly was captured on surveillance videotape. Hendrick allegedly hid items from the electronics section on her person or in her cart and threw them out of the store via the outdoor garden area, where she later picked them up while driving by in her vehicle.

Jack Scott – Scott, 57, of Sequim, was charged Sept. 26 with three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree. On Sept. 16, two Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a weapons discharge on the 100 block of Sundial Loop. Deputies went to Scott’s home because he was known to have firearms. He admitted to having two in a locked cabinet in his garage but denied shooting a gun that evening. Deputies looked at the guns and determined they had not been fired. But due to a mental health situation, Scott is not allowed to possess guns so deputies arrested him and booked him into the Clallam County Correctional Facility and confiscated his guns and ammunition.

Todd Thorsen – Thorsen, 41, of Sequim, was charged Sept. 30 with theft in second degree. On Sept. 29, a Sequim Police officer was dispatched to Safeway due to a report of an employee theft. The grocery store’s loss prevention investigator told the officer that Thorsen had been using a coupon code to discount fuel sales at the Safeway gas pumps and then took money from the till. Thorsen allegedly admitted to taking $943 from the store.
