Prompted by the presence of the Polar Pioneer oil drilling rig in the Port Angeles Harbor, Clallam County Democrats present an informational program about drilling in the Arctic on Wednesday evening May 13 at 6 p.m.

The program is part of a regular series of topical programs offered on the second Wednesday of each month at Clallam Democratic Headquarters, 124-A West First Street, Port Angeles. All programs are free; members of the public are encouraged to attend.

The presentation, led by Ed Chadd of Olympic Climate Action, explains how the U.S. crude oil market experiences a surplus of supply an average of one million more barrels of oil per day than it is consuming. Questions such as, what is to be gained, what is at risk and why did Greenpeace choose to the Polar Pioneer, will be explored.

A video interview with Greenpeace Executive Director Kumi Naidoo is to be featured. Following the presentation is a question-and-answer period.
