Classes probe Clallam history

A new series of six weekly "Forever Learning" classes is offered by the Clallam County Historical Society starting April 7.

A new series of six weekly "Forever Learning" classes is offered by the Clallam County Historical Society starting April 7. Classes are from 10 a.m.-noon each Wednesday from April 7-May 12 at the Museum at the Carnegie, 207 S. Lincoln St., Port Angeles.

Cost for the series is $40 for Historical Society members and $50 for nonmembers. Classes are limited to 20 people. The registration fee includes class materials and a Clallam County afghan with county landmarks woven into the material.

Here is the schedule:

April 7 – "History of the East End" with Doug McInnes and Bob Clark

April 14 – "History of Logging in the West End" with Jack Zaccardo

April 21 – "Researching Cemetery Records and Cemeteries" with DJ Bassett

April 28 – Makah Culture with Janine Bowechop

May 5 – Trip to Ocean View Cemetery to "meet" some past residents of Clallam County

May 12 – "Preserving your Family Treasures" with Historical Society staff
