Coastal burglarized in Sequim, police investigating

Sequim Police report Coastal Farm & Ranch, 990 E. Washington St., was burglarized early last Friday morning.

How many people were involved and what was stolen remains unclear as that afternoon, said Det. Sgt. Darrell Nelson in a phone interview.

He said the business was burglarized around 5:30 a.m. when at least one person broke through the front door, smashing the bottom left sliding door window.

It’s unknown what was used to smash open the door, Nelson said.

Police were trying to obtain video surveillance of the incident on Friday as the investigation remains ongoing, he said.

Coastal’s management did not want to comment on the burglary as it’s being investigated.

The business reopened around 1 p.m. the same day. It was closed after the burglary; the entrance was wrapped with a string of yellow police tape.

Nelson said police do not believe the public to be in any danger because of the incident.
