Clallam County Commissioners agreed April 28 to lengthen the time period the county’s courthouse is open by half an hour. Since Monday, May 4, the hours changed to 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, except holidays.
“Recognizing an increased demand for many county services, the board has authorized a return to a normal, 40-hour workweek for all full-time employees,” according to Resolution 38, authorizing a temporary change in service hours.
About 200 union employees schedules were bumped up from 37.5-hour workweeks, reflecting a schedule similar to 2011 before employee concession agreements were made.
The decision to adjust the courthouse hours was a result of the commissioners developing a plan to spend down $2.51 million from the county’s 2015 General Fund in an attempt to stimulate the local economy.
