PALOA presents ‘Penzance’

The Port Angeles Light Opera Association presents its summer production, by William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, “The Pirates of Penzance,” July 15-23.

Tickets are $20, $16 and $12. Family Night is opening night, Friday, July 15, with all tickets $12. Evening performances are July 15-16; July 19 and July 21-22 with two matinees, at 2 p.m. July 17 and July 23.

‘Saving Your Skin’ session today

Claire Haycox, M.D., Ph.D., presents a free WOW! Working on Wellness Forum entitled “Saving Your Skin” at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, in the second-floor conference room at Olympic Medical Park, 840 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim. The focus is summer challenges for skin care and preventing future problems.

 

 

Thrift shop open Saturday

The Sequim Dungeness Hospital Guild’s Thrift Shop, 204 W. Bell St., Sequim, will be open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, July 16.

Furniture, home accessories and summer fashions will be sold. All white tagged items will be marked at half price during the sale. Volunteers are needed. Call 683-7044.

 

 

Council candidates debate

The League of Women Voters of Clallam County and the Sequim Senior Activity Center present a debate among the candidates for Sequim City Council Position No. 2 — Laura J. Dubois, Ron Fairclough and John Miller — from 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at the

Sequim Senior Activity Center, 921 E. Hammond St. The candidates will discuss the issues and take questions from the audience. The debate is co-sponsored by the Sequim Gazette and KONP.

 

 

Vacation Bible school has a beach theme

Tryouts for talent show set

Sequim Bible Church invites talented folks of all ages to apply and audition for its annual talent show, to be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, during the church’s free Family Fun Fest. Applications may be submitted online at www.sequimbible.com; contestants will be notified of July 30 or July 31 audition times/places; 12 finalists will compete on Aug. 13 for $500, $250 and $125 prizes.
