There will be a blood drive from 10:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Sequim Community Church, 950 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
Genealogy library open Saturday
Clallam County Genealogical Society Research Library, 931 W. Ninth St., Port Angeles, will be open from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, May 26, to accommodate those who want to work on their genealogy projects. Volunteers provide assistance. Call 417-5000, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday-Friday.
‘Celebrate America’ with a picnic
There will be a nonpartisan community “Celebrate America” picnic from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, on the grassy parkway directly in front of The Home Depot along Washington Street in Sequim.
Participants should bring their own food, beverages, blankets and flags.
SARC offers holiday discount
General daily admission for the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center will be discounted 25 percent on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, from 2-9pm. Admission will be $6 adult, $3 youth and $1.50 child, with ages 2 and under free. Visit www.sarcfitness.com for a facility schedule.
‘Cots for Clallam’ campaign kicks off
The Red Cross has begun a “Cots for Clallam County” campaign to raise funds for 1,000 cots and bedding kits to support disaster shelters in the community. To make a donation, call 457-7933 or mail to American Red Cross/Cots for Clallam, PO Box 188, Carlsborg, WA 98324.
Supplies needed at shelter
The Olympic Peninsula Humane Society desperately needs non-clumping cat litter for the increasing cat and kitten population at the shelter. Other supplies needed include adult cat food, kitten food, adult dog food and puppy food. Supplies can be dropped off at the shelter from 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday. First Teacher hosts Kids Fair
The First Teacher program invites applications for booths at its First Teacher Dungeness Kids Fair from 10 a.m-2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Carrie Blake Park in Sequim. Activities and entertainment for children are planned along with useful exhibits and resources for families. The booth fee is $85; $20 for a nonprofit 501(c)(3). The Jefferson County 4-H Horse Program is hosting an open clinic with Dr. Richard Vetter of Performance Equine Dentistry.
