Ice cream social, car show to boost education group

The Sequim Prairie Grange is teaming up with another local nonprofit, the Sequim Education Foundation, for its August month’s Ice Cream Social & Car Show.

Enjoy ice cream, classic cars and the a smoke trailer from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, at the grange 290 Macleay Road.

For $7, attendees can choose between a sundae and a banana split, with part of the proceeds going to the Sequim Education Foundation.

Diabetes group to meet

The Olympic Medical Center Diabetes Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23.

This free support group meets in the Seasons Café private dining room at Olympic Memorial Hospital, 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles.

This month’s meeting will feature a presentation on diabetes and cardiovascular health.

Land Trust picnic set for Sunday

The North Olympic Land Trust invites the community to celebrate summer and the Olympic Peninsula with its 2024 Land Trust Family Picnic, set for 1-4 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Olympic Cellars, 255410 U.S. Highway 101, between Sequim and Port Angeles.

The event is a free, all-ages potluck — main dishes are from Pacific Pantry, attendees bring the sides — with tunes from local favorite Sweater Weather String Band. Ice cream from Welly’s and beer and wine from Olympic Cellars will be available for purchase.

Land Trust representatives will recap of the organization’s successes over the last year at its (optional) annual meeting.

All are welcome, but pets should be left at home.
