City seeks volunteers for board, commission
The Sequim City Council is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Parks, Arbor, and Recreation Advisory Board and on the Planning Commission.
The appointment for the Parks, Arbor, and Recreation Advisory Board is to fill a vacancy for a resident who lives within the Sequim city limits.
The position is a three-year appointment and will expire in February 2028. This voluntary board meets on the third Monday of each month at 4 p.m. and advises the city council on issues involving city parks and public spaces.
For the Planning Commission, the chosen applicant will fill a four-year term ending in January 2029.
Applicants must reside in the Clallam County boundaries of the Sequim School District. The application period for the Planning Commission closes at noon on Friday, April 4.
The Planning Commission meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m., with meetings lasting one to two hours. The Commission is a seven-member citizen panel responsible for advising the city council on matters related to long-range community planning, including the Sequim Comprehensive Plan.

Earth Day Spring Fest set
The Third Annual Earth Day Spring Fest free benefit concert to raise funds for the North Olympic Salmon Coalition (NOSC) will take place at noon on Saturday, April 19. The mostly classical concert will be presented by volunteer musicians/singers at Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (OUUF) located at 1033 N. Barr Road between Port Angeles and Sequim.
All proceeds will go to the NOSC. Plenty of free parking will be available.
The NOSC is a community-based nonprofit organization that works with willing landowners and volunteers to perform salmon habitat restoration on the North Olympic Peninsula. NOSC is one of 14 Regional Fisheries Enhancement Groups in Washington dedicated to salmon recovery. Veterans support available
The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5 office located at the Sequim Museum administration building, 544 N. Sequim Ave., is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday to serve all veterans with claims and information.
Veterans do not have to be a member of the DAV to receive assistance.
