Community Dinner offered Thanksgiving Day

A free community Thanksgiving meal will be available from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St.

There will be turkey and “all the fixins” available. Buck Ellard will make a special appearance, and there will be a singing of “You’re a Grand Old Flag” by Gurkehar and Roshan Khela. For more information, call Stephen Rosales at 360-461-6038.

Irrigation Fest contestants sought

Sequim Irrigation Festival is accepting scholarship pageant applications for students in 10th through 12th grades who live within the Sequim School District boundaries.

The Scholarship Pageant is open to all students — even those who do not attend a Sequim School District school — and will take place at 6 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Sequim High School Auditorium.

The Sequim Irrigation Festival, which began in 1896, is the longest continuous running festival in Washington and is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization.

Salvation Army seeks volunteer bell ringers

Officials with the Salvation Army Northwest Division are looking for volunteer red kettle bell ringers in Sequim and Port Angeles to help more families and individuals make ends meet and experience the joy of the season. Signups are available at RegistertoRing.com.

Salvation Army leaders hope to raise $3.9 million to help fund lifesaving services such as emergency shelters and transitional housing, utility and rental assistance, addiction recovery and more.

Volunteer Hospice orientation set

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC) will host in-person volunteer orientations for those interested in learning more about or volunteering with the organization.

The first session is scheduled for 11 a.m. Dec. 3 at a Sequim location to be revealed at the time of registration. A second orientation will be held Dec. 4 at VHOCC offices, 829 E. Eighth St. in Port Angeles.

Volunteers serve in a variety of roles such as front desk receptionist, in the organization’s lending closet or delivering medical equipment to patients’ homes. They also can serve at the bedside of hospice patients or offer grief support and spiritual care or handle various tasks in the office or at fundraising events.

VHOCC is a nonprofit which serves Clallam County from Joyce to Diamond Point, and all its services are free. It provides end-of-life nursing care, loans medical equipment and supplies and offers education programs, grief support groups, one-on-one bereavement services and practical workshops on life after loss.

Master Gardeners host Christmas Market

Clallam County Master Gardeners host a Christmas Market in the historic Holladay Barn Christmas Market from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29-30, at the Holladay Family Barn, 712 Clark Road.

It features house plants for sale, handmade greeting cards, festively decorated birdhouses and the information-packed 2025 Clallam County Master Gardener Calendar. Credit cards and cash will be accepted.

Grange hosts Christmas Craft Fair

The Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, hosts a Homemade Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizers said it’s the best place to find that one-of-a-kind special gift for family and friends. There will be unique handmade crafts in all areas from leather to wood, to Christmas decor, ceramics, jewelry and so much more.

There will also be homemade goodies and lunch for sale in the kitchen.

‘Tea to Die For’ slated for Dec. 9

A Death Café “Tea to Die For,” sponsored by Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, is set from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the KSQM-FM Community Room, 609 W. Washington St., Sequim.

Because of the holidays, there will be no Port Angeles Death Café in November or December.

The groups are free and open to all and do not require prior registration.

Conversations are held every second Monday in Sequim and every fourth Wednesday in Port Angeles. They are meant to foster relaxed and informal discussions surrounding death and dying and are open to anyone curious about the end of life.
