Kettel’s free dinner, drinks

Kettel’s 76, 194 W. Washington St., Sequim, offers a free traditional Christmas dinner from noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, with free 12-ounce fountain drinks and coffee.

Hardy’s hosts Dec. 24 holiday meal

Hardy’s Market, 10200 Old Olympic Highway, Sequim, invites the public to its complimentary traditional Christmas Eve holiday meal.

The Clallam County Planning Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. The agenda includes a continued discussion about development standards and restrictions for bed and breakfast in single-family dwellings. Call 417-2277 for more information.

Gardiner commissioners set calendar

The Gardiner Community Cemetery commissioners will be meet at 5 p.m. every second Thursday in 2017, Jan. 12-Dec. 14, downstairs in the Gardiner Community Center, 1040 Old Gardiner Road, Gardiner. The public is invited to attend.

Apply for park positions

The National Park Service has more than 250 seasonal job openings for the summer of 2017 in more than 10 parks across the Pacific Northwest.

Applications must be submitted on the website USAJobs.gov.

The site can be easily searched from the home page by entering “National Park Service” in the keywords field and Washington in the location field.

Applicants may create a profile on the website in advance to save time once the hiring process begins, which is recommended.

Lake Crescent work to begin in March

The National Park Service &Federal Highway Administration will rehabilitate 12 miles of U.S. Highway 101 around Lake Crescent and four miles of East Beach Road to address safety and long‐term maintenance issues.

The project will begin in March 2017 and last up to three construction seasons, March-November of 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The construction schedule will vary throughout the construction season to reduce impacts to the traveling public while still allowing safe and efficient road work.

Work will occur on weekdays only and will not be scheduled for holidays or weekends.

Senior Nutrition menu set

Sequim Senior Nutrition Site menus are served at 4:30 p.m. at the Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St., on Tuesdays-Fridays.

Suggested donation is $5 (60 and over), $8 guest and a 24-hour advance reservation is needed.
